Blue and White LED lights cause me eye pain, headaches, and loss of my remaining vision. They’re ubiquitous. Any small gap in my eye protect causes me pain. It’s been challenging to find a solutions that help me travel through public when I need to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One helpful, although imperfect, piece of equipment I’ve found is the glasses from Noir Insight<\/a>. To do this review, I’ll talk about my observations:

Availability of Lens 570<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article was started when lens 570 was on Noir’s website. I visited again just before publishing this, and I couldn’t find lens 570 anymore, and wonder if it has been discontinued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filtering Damaging Light<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lens 570 blocks 100% of short wavelenght blue light, The lens has a high optical density.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protection from Glare<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have two pairs of Noir Goggles. Neither of them are polarized. They don’t do much to protect against glare, and might even make it a little worse in certain conditions. This problem was solved by putting a piece of window privacy film on the inside of the goggles, having the unfortunate side effect of causing blindness to the point where one can only distinguish dark from light.. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Dis)Comfort of Frame 50<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing I noticed when I put on Frame 50 is, it is uncomfortable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goggle plastic is fairly hard, and when I have to be in it for a long time. I long to rip it off my face. It left a deep line across my nose that took hours to go away after about 6 hours of wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wish they would make it of a slightly softer, more supple, but still latex-free material.

It would be great if they sold changeable, washable cotton liners for Frame 50 to allow a little air flow between them and skin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lack of Polarization <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These would be a lot better if polarized. Noir only offers two polarized lenses, and they’re not available as goggles, and might not block enough blue light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latex-Free Elastic Strap<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reply received from my inquiry:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I just learned from our team that there is no latex in the Strap for the #50 goggles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please let me know if you need anything else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
